Training Classes

Bookings & Attendance:

Bookings will be confirmed when booking/registration details are completed and payment has been made.

All family members that are involved with the day-to-day care and training of the dog are encouraged to attend classes.

Those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

It is the supervising adult's responsibility to prevent children from disturbing the process of learning. Please feel free to bring younger children some calm, independent activities should they not always be able to be involved in the training.

For health and safety reasons, and to ensure an appropriate learning environment for all, it will not be permitted for children to run around or interact with the other dogs (unless specifically requested by Robyn Atkinson) during classes.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend a class.

Training Environment and Equipment:

Please bring your dog to classes on a normal lead and collar/harness. No extendable/flexi leads please.

The following items are not permitted at classes under any circumstances: choke/check chains, slip leads, harnesses with a constricting anti-pull function or electric shock, anti-bark, citronella, prong or pinch collars. Similarly, any other device that causes discomfort, pain or fear to the dog or any equipment that Robyn Atkinson deems unacceptable will not be permitted at classes.

For outdoor classes, please come prepared for the weather. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear in case of rain and cold temperatures. Ensure that you have sufficient water for yourself and your dog.

Only ethical, kind training techniques are used during classes.

The use of physical force and punishment-based training techniques are not permitted at classes. We reserve the right to deny further access to training if harsh or punitive handling continues after an initial warning.

Please do not allow your dog to approach another dog before asking permission from the owner. Some dogs need more personal space and can feel uncomfortable if approached by an unknown dog. Similarly, please do not try to greet someone else's dog before asking if this is ok.

Please do not allow your dog to play on lead with other dogs in class. On lead interactions can create problems for less confident dogs and also for dogs inclined to become overly excitable or frustrated. If off-lead opportunities are not included in the class, you are welcome to privately arrange play dates for your dogs.

Dogs that show aggression towards people or other dogs cannot attend group classes. We reserve the right to remove an attendee from a class without a refund should their dog show aggressive behaviour. 121 sessions are a more appropriate option in these cases.

Health & Safety:

Please inform us if your dog is showing signs of being unwell prior to attending a class. Please do not bring your dog to a class if they are showing signs of illness. You are welcome to attend a class without your dog should they not be able to attend.

Please keep your dog on lead and under control at all times unless asked to do otherwise by Robyn Atkinson. Your dog's behaviour remains your responsibility at all times.

Please clean up after your dog and take any poo bags away with you. We can advise where the nearest poo bin is located from the venue.

All dogs should be up to date with their vaccinations before attending group classes.

Please do not bring in season female dogs to classes. We can advise on the best way forward if this situation arises.

We make every effort to ensure the safety of both clients and dogs during classes. Robyn Atkinson cannot be held responsible for personal injury or damage to property owned by you while attending classes.

Refunds and Cancellations:

Cancellations will receive a full refund if more than 7 days notice is given. Cancellations where less than 7 days notice is given will receive a 80% refund.

Refunds are not available for courses that have already commenced. Exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.

Refunds for missed classes are not available with no exceptions.

Outdoor classes will only be cancelled in extreme circumstances such as heat waves, storms, snow or if the field is flooded. An alternative date will be scheduled if the cancelled class is part of a course. Cancelled one-off classes will either be rescheduled or refunds offered.

Photography:

You and your dog may be photographed and/or videoed during the class and this may be shared on our website and social platforms.

You will be asked for your permission prior to any photography or video recording being commenced and you are in no way obligated to agree to having any photography or video recordings of yourself or your dog being taken or shared.

121 Sessions

If you have purchased a series of 121 sessions, you will have 6 months from the date of purchase in which to book and complete your package of sessions. Any sessions not booked after 6 months will not be carried over.

Health & Safety:

Please inform us if your dog is showing signs of being unwell prior to attending a session.

Your dog's behaviour remains your responsibility at all times.

We make every effort to ensure the safety of both clients and dogs during training. Robyn Atkinson cannot be held responsible for personal injury or damage to property owned by you while attending training.

Bookings & Attendance:

All family members that are involved with the day-to-day care and training of the dog are encouraged to attend sessions.

Those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Children who are likely to be distracting during sessions are recommended to not attend or to be given an activity to help keep them occupied.

Behaviour Modification & Training:

The following items are not permitted under any circumstances: choke/check chains, slip leads, harnesses with a constricting anti-pull function or electric shock, anti-bark, citronella, prong or pinch collars. Similarly, any other device that causes discomfort, pain or fear to the dog or any equipment that Robyn Atkinson deems unacceptable will not be permitted.

Only ethical, kind training techniques are used during training.

The use of physical force and punishment-based training techniques are not permitted. We reserve the right to deny further access to training if harsh or punitive handling continues after an initial warning.

Robyn Atkinson will give advice, guidance and continued support on methods to improve your animal’s behaviour. However, it is your responsibility to carry out the behaviour modification plan and lack of progress cannot be the responsibility of Robyn Atkinson.

All advice is given in good faith and is to the best of Robyn Atkinson’s knowledge: current, scientifically sourced and effective. Robyn Atkinson cannot be held responsible for poor results due to complaints over the advice given.

Refunds and Cancellations:

Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice given will receive a full refund. Booked sessions can be rescheduled at no extra charge if more than 48 hours notice is given.

Refunds for cancelled or rescheduled sessions sessions where less than 48 hours notice is given will be charged the full amount. Exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.
